Out of the City is extremely proud to have been selected as a participant on the 10,000 Small Businesses programme in the North West.

10,000 Small Businesses is designed to unlock the economic and job creation potential of small businesses and social enterprises operating in the United Kingdom. The programme is targeted at small businesses and social enterprises with clear ambitions to expand. The goal of the programme is to provide participants with tools and resources to help them lay the foundation for long-term sustainable growth and job creation in their communities.

We are delighted to report that our MD, Sky McCann, was selected as a finalist for the Lancashire Director of the Year Award .

Sky says, "I am very proud to have been chosen by the panel of judges as a finalist in such a prestigious Award". The evening was hosted by Radio 5 Live’s Nicky Campbell.

"Do something different" is the tag-line for this year's Children in Need Appeal. Well, who would have thought of shopping as a way to raise money for charity?

Children are very close to our hearts here at Out of the City, and for the fourth year running we are delighted to donate 5% of our total sales this week to the BBC Children in Need Appeal.

All orders placed between Saturday 14th and Friday 20th November inclusive will be totted up and 5% of the total will be donated to the appeal.

What you need to do?

At Out of the City we just love to bring you a fantastic deal, and we work really hard to remain competitive on price with all the best sellers from the brands we offer. But with over 1,000 individual product lines it's very difficult to keep an eye on everything all of the time.

The vast majority of orders placed with Out of the City are totally unaffected by the Royal Mail strikes, but as we do use Royal Mail for a small percentage of our despatches please find full information below.

We use a courier service for the following orders:

All orders totalling over £50 in value.
All orders containing a heavy item (1.5kg plus) such as wellington boots.

This service is provided by a number of courier companies and is COMPLETELY UNAFFECTED by the strikes.
