Sales Assistant Required

We are looking for a sales assistant for the Out of the City country clothing and footwear department within R Bamford Guns of Eccleston in Lancashire. 

A friendly, professional and outgoing personality is essential.  Much of the job will entail talking to customers to establish their requirements, and guiding them toward making the right product choices.  The focus is on providing excellent customer service and making the customer’s shopping experience with us as pleasurable and memorable as it can be.    

Knowledge of, or interest in, country sports such as shooting or equestrian pursuits is an advantage but not essential. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Maintaining outstanding store presentation and cleanliness.
  • Maintaining a fully stocked store.
  • Regularly refreshing visual merchandising.
  • Involvement in receiving new stock lines and managing displays. 
  • Keeping up to date with relevant technical knowledge and product information.
  • Welcoming and greeting customers.
  • Ascertaining customers’ needs and wants and advising them on products that meet those needs.
  • Managing point of sale processes.
  • Answering the phone.
  • Supporting other members of the staff team wherever needed. 

This is by no means an exhaustive list but an indication of regular day to day activities.

Previous experience of working in a busy retail environment will be useful but is not essential and full training will be given. 

DBS checks and police clearance will be requested for successful applicants. 

Full time hours over 5 days per week.
