Sperry is an American shoe brand founded in 1935 when Paul A. Sperry slipped on the deck of his boat and fell overboard, inspiring him to develop a new non-slip shoe specifically for boating. Sperrys or Top-Siders were the first boat shoes introduced into the boating and footwear markets.
